Remember You is a mama’s circle that offers you the space to rest and be witnessed by other mamas who are caring for themselves as an act of collective care. During our time together, you will be guided in yoga nidra, reflect with self inquiry prompts, and share in conversation with other mamas.
I invite you to breathe in deeply through your nose, and release an awwww exhale out your mouth. Lift your arms and stretch up to the sky. Feel the air on your skin, your heart beating in your chest, and the life force energy moving throughout your entire being. You are alive. Part of you is more alive today than it was before your child(ren) came along. There is a part of you that is forever adapting, growing, evolving alongside your child(ren). There is a new rhythm to your life as a parent.
Lucy Jones talks about this in her book Matrescence saying,
“The birth of my first child after the maelstrom passed was a deliverance, it brought me closer to my real self. I have learned how to surrender when I need to. I am learning to live in the rhythm of other lives. I have learned to share my life. I am trying to learn how to rest so I can show my children it is important to rest, be, exist, not just to do. I am trying to accept help when it is offered. I can’t work myself to the bone anymore or play fast and loose with my health anymore because I must look after them, as a consequence I must look after me. I seek wonder and awe in the woods in the transcendent ordinary of moss, lichen and brick walls, through planting seeds in our garden, through friends I can talk honestly to.”
Join Libby Nicholaou and other Hudson Valley mamas for an evening of rest and conversation around the theme of A New Life Rhythm at 8pm on August 22, 2025.
